Self-portrait! With my favorite imaginary friend, General Tso!
I realized this week that I really miss my old comic book style. I’ve been working with more painterly methods for a while, but comic books are my passion, and considering I’m writing and drawing a webcomic, I should probably focus on this style! So, this is my first stab at a more graphic style in a while. Except, now I’m a better artist! And I actually know how to use Photoshop! Yay! Yay!
More to come! Stay tuned!
Here’s a little something I thew together the other day. I call him “Fink”. A merchant of fine silks and spices, differentiated from the other rats on the docks only by his wealth and cunning…
Khajiit Thief
Another Skyrim character. Gotta get my nerd on!
Fire Mage (Aurelia)
Meet my Skyrim character! One of the great things about being an illustrator is that video games count as “research”. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. :)
Whoops, I fell off the grid for a few weeks. Sorry, imaginary fans! Still working on a major piece, hope to have it finished within the week with the help of some good old fashioned elbow grease and coffee in such amounts that only other Starbucks employees could understand.
In the meantime, Happy Turkey Day! Hope you enjoy this little princess. I call this piece “Mom Knows Best”, reminding us in the spirit of Thanksgiving that while you can’t pick your family, they will usually provide you with interesting anecdotes. The trashier the better I always say.
My Little Dragony! Daily warm-up started out as a plain ol’ regular dragon and ended up as a fancy rainbow creature. Goofy, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
I’ve decided that Mondays are going to be my primary posting day; it’s always good to have something to look forward to on Mondays. :)
Meet Gaspard. He’s a robot, that’s pronounced ro-bit.
A major character from my upcoming graphic novel (yeah yeah I know everyone’s got one of those). This color study is one of the few traditional media sketches I’ve done recently, using watercolor, gouache and pen. Keep this lil’ fella in your pocket, you will see him again.
Teenager
Daily warm-up from earlier this week. I had a lot of fun with the freckles :) Lucy in her early years, perhaps? Inspired by videos of baby gorillas and Munch’s Puberty.
Aged Satyr
A warm-up from last week. I love to scribble :P
